2nd Annual Nolafunk Jazzfest Series Adds More Shows
Including Nolafunk Jazzfest Series Kick-Off Party,
Leftover Salmon and Papa Grows Funk’s Jazz Fest Farewell
The 2nd Annual Nolafunk Jazzfest Series is proud to announce their 2nd Annual Kick-Off Party featuring an all-star lineup of The Soul Rebels
, brand new New Orleans-based project Tryptophunk
, and the always stellar Marco Benevento
with his trio. Tryptophunk features George Porter Jr., John Gros (Papa Grows Funk), Craig Klein & Mark Mullins of Bonerama, Brian Stoltz (Funky Meters), and Terrence Houston (Runnin’ Pardners.) Nolafunk is also happy to welcome back the incomparable Leftover Salmon
on Saturday April 27 at the Howlin’ Wolf. Special guests will be announced soon. The show is currently onsale through Ticketweb.com. In addition Papa Grows Funk
will perform their Jazz Fest Farewell
concert on Sunday May 5 at Republic, with special guests to be announced.

The 2nd Annual Nolafunk Jazzfest Series also features two performances by the Meter Men, featuring George Porter Jr., Leo Nocentelli, and Zigaboo Modelistel; three of the four original members of legendary funk band The Meters, plus Page McConnell of Phish. Their May 4th performance sold out in less than 8 hours. Limited tickets still remain for their April 27th performance.
Under the Nolafunk moniker, CEG honors the musical heroes and spirit of New Orleans in New York City all year round, producing concerts in the Big Apple featuring many of the Big Easy's finest musicians, such as Dr. John, Rebirth Brass Band, Kermit Ruffins, Anders Osborne, Bonerama, Eric Lindell, Papa Grows Funk
and many more. In addition, CEG amasses all-star Nola-centric lineups for both the annual Nolafunk Mardi Gras Ball
and the annual Nolafunk Summer Jazzfest
CEG & Nolafunk have had a long history producing shows in New Orleans since 2007, as former partners with New Orleans-based Backbeat.
The 1st Annual Nolafunk Jazzfest Series hosted such acts as 7 Walkers, ALO, Anders Osborne, Budos Band, EOTO, Leftover Salmon, Los Lobos, Rebirth Brass Band, Tab Benoit
As is tradition with Nolafunk’s prior shows in New Orleans, all Republic shows will be non-smoking.
