King of the World was formed in January 2011 by a group of longtime friends....guys that grew up on this music and love it at a deep level. For KOTW, Steely Dan is the other level; a voodoo cocktail of cool....sort of the mutant offspring of Rock and Jazz. If Mingus or Ellington had a Rock & Roll band, this is what it might sound like. While KOTW revere the music of Fagen, Becker & Co., they don't take themselves or the whole endeavor too seriously.
